Aamer Shamim is a Certified Professional Engineer holding Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering along with Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences. He also has NEBOSH (UK) International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety.

With more than 20 years of versatile experience ranging from Core Health, Safety, Environment & Security to Maintenance, Construction, Outage & Project Planning and Management; Aamer has worked for Oil & Gas (50,000 BPD Crude Oil Refinery), Power Generation (456MW Combined Cycle, 727MW Conventional, 256MW Reciprocating Engine), Power Construction (256MW Reciprocating Engine), Desalination Plant (91,000 m3/day Multi Stage Flash Distillation) and Textile Unit.

Aamer has been with AES Corporation since 14 years. He has served AES in different market, regional and corporate EHS operational and governance roles. At present, he is leading AES' Global Env, Health, Safety & Security function as Global EHS&S Director.
