In this presentation by Aleksandar Vukojevic of Duke Energy, we are given a live demonstration of some of the smart glass utility operations and maintenance applications that Duke has been testing with Atheer.

Aleksandar speaks to how new technology can alleviate the “labor crunch” that is threatening the utilities industry, as nearly 50% of Duke’s experienced workforce prepares to retire in the next 5-10 years. He also shares a few lessons learned in the Emerging Technology Office at Duke, including the importance of getting “the people from the floor” involved in the proof-of-concept stage; and teases us with some future project ideas.
