Martin Leitgab is a Staff Research Engineer in the Leidos Civil Group on the NASA Human Health and Performance Contract. As part of the NASA Space Radiation Analysis Group at NASA Johnson Space Center, Martin works on radiation protection tasks to ensure astronaut health through radiation detector design, development, testing, data analysis and simulation. Leitgab is the project manager and lead investigator of the Crew Personal Active Dosimeter project (CPAD), which is adapting COTS products into an autonomous wearable solution for future space exploration missions. He also pursues the design of a future integrated, multi-sensor wearable device for astronauts on the ISS and future spacecraft. Martin received a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013.
