Dr. Gregory Garrett is currently a Senior Ergonomist for Boeing Workplace Safety and is located in Charleston, SC. where he leads the 787 site Ergonomics program. His doctorate in Public Health is in Epidemiology and Environmental Health with an emphasis in Ergonomics & Human Factors. In addition to support of the 787 program, he also serves as the BDS Advanced Manufacturing Safety & Ergonomics Capability Liaison. As a capability liaison, Dr. Garrett employs advanced manufacturing tools and technologies, while utilizing a systems engineering approach, to improve the safety and ergonomic related risks within manufacturing and production environments.
Dr. Garrett is also the Enterprise subject matter expert for the safe & ergonomic deployment of immersive technologies and works with Dr. Christopher Reid in the deployment of Exoskeleton systems and other wearable devices. Outside of work, Dr. Garrett sits on the program committee board for the IISE Applied Ergonomics Conference, is the Safety Committee Chair for the Augmented Reality for Enterprise Alliance (AREA) a global organization dedicated to widespread adoption of interoperable AR-enabled enterprise systems, and is a member of the Underwriter’s Laboratory STP 8400 standards working group for immersive technologies safety standards development.
