Evelyn has work for more than 26 years at the Virtual Reality Laboratory NASA JSC. She supports training Astronauts to perform Extra Vehicular Activities (EVA) using Virtual Reality Technologies while enhancing Human Spaceflight activities. Evelyn co-wrote the Dynamic Onboard Ubiquitous Graphics (DOUG) software, a mission critical VR-ready flight application use to support Simulation, Planning and Training for EVA and Robotic Operations, Situational Awareness and Just-in-Time training onboard the International Space Station. Currently her vision is to utilize Augmented Reality Technologies for Space Exploration, as well as to continue her support for current and future NASA missions. Named as one of BBC’s Top 100 Inspirational Women in the World for 2016 and one of CNET’s Top 20 Most Influential Hispanics in Technology for 2015 and 2016, Evelyn lends her experience and knowledge to the field of Computer Engineering, Virtual and Mix Reality Technologies on a National level, within Government Agencies and Universities. Among her proudest roles, however, is to encourage young students and women to pursue and succeed in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) through lectures and other outreach efforts.
